afaik, its an action rpg that takes place in the world of xiii...but storylines and characters are completely different/independent.

Something like Crisis Core with more action and better graphics, I guess.

This game is absolutely amazing. It starts out slow as hell (I originally was pissed off with it and almost stopped playing) but it picks up and is now my favorite console RPG. The new battle system (once a lot of the Crystarium is open and switching Paradigms becomes a necessity) is ingenious. If anyone picks it up, give it time if you're unsettled by the changes, this game kicks massive ass lol

What mexican said. The battle system is awesome but i think the game lacks some side quests and some hidden/secret stuff. Just finished story line a few days ago and hunting marks gets old pretty fast.
